Western Bay Driving has been operating in Tauranga and surrounding areas for over 16 years. For the last 4 years it has been owned and operated by Chris Welch who has continued to build on the success and excellent reputation of Western Bay Driving School.

Christine is a Kiwi but is UK trained (BSM) instructor, in the UK to train to be a motorbike and car instructor can take up to 2 years to qualify, the training is very intense but guaranties a highly qualified instructor, After finishing her 2 years training Chris went on to gain more advanced high speed motorway training on one of UK’s busiest motorways the M6, When Chris moved back to NZ 5 years ago, dropping her UK standard was not an option and has carried on with the high quality of instructing, this is reflected in her 99% pass rate.

Chris is also a motorbike instructor with over 35 years of riding experience, 10 years of which is motorcross.

Chris owns and operates WBD and prides herself in keeping the highest quality and will endeavour to never drop her standards.
